Thanks for the link Opie!
Wow! That's awesome!
Now all of you noisy, dirty snowmobile riding rednecks keep in mind that ALL areas OUTSIDE of the black circle are OFF LIMITS to snomobiles!
You can ONLY RIDE INSIDE of the black circle, or risk USFS fines, imprisonment and HCCA labor camp internment! Just ask Mikey Shorts.
;-)
And those little red dotted lines.... those are the designated snowmobile routes. Stay ON THE TRAIL!!!
I thin a Good Luck is in order, they are going to need it
There are 10x the number snowmobiles and back country enthusiasts there were 15yrs ago. Without total control of the area it is hard to see them surviving very long without the lodge and bar to keep the motor heads bellied up to and out of the way.
All humor aside, the reality is that nothing other than private land is closed to snowmobiling. Nothing. IBG's private land is a thumbnail in that map. Its the little grey boxes that are mining claims, and not all are theirs.
Zoom...zoom....zoom!
"The Forest Service stated in the decision document that “no closures will be implemented on National Forest System lands within the permit area.” Jackson explained that the snowmobile riding and backcountry skiing public would continue to have access to the Irwin backcountry, including the area inside the permit that is comprised of Forest Service land."
