The Office for Resource Efficiency will host a Sustainable Home Tour on Saturday, September 19th, 2009 from 1:00 PM -3:00 PM at Round Mountain Organics. The Round Mountain Organics estate includes high-altitude outdoor gardens, an ecologically-friendly farm, a straw-bale home, a greenhouse and a yurt. The farm’s electricity is provided by sun and wind alone!
Come out and see how natural building techniques, organic farming and renewable energy systems are used to create a highly efficient Institute, Farm and Home. Attendance is FREE and open to all. Directions: The farm is off Hwy 135, 10 miles south of Crested Butte and 18 miles north of Gunnison. The farm is between mile marker 17 & 18 on the east side of Hwy 135.
