It’s time to think pink

Did you know that Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough to Wear Pink (TETWP) is the No. 1 rodeo in the USA in support of breast cancer, raising $210,000 since 2006. TETWP has worked closely with Gunnison County Public Health, Gunnison Valley Hospital (GVH) and area physicians to provide more than 170 mammograms and ultra sounds and 11 biopsies. It has also helped five families of breast cancer survivors with living expenses.

To date, TETWP has paid out more than $99,760. One hundred percent of the dollars raised have stayed in the community.

Last October, breast cancer awareness month, TETWP presented the GVH with a check for $27,000 to help it upgrade to a digital technology platform that will compliment and enhance mammography in our area.
